Asylum Announcements

Howdy there, Inmates! I have some things I want to share with you today. So take those meds, pour your beverages of choice and get comfy for a couple of minutes.

First, tomorrow, November 21, 2009, will be another edition of Shan’s Week~End Wordles.

Second, I was asked to let you all know about The Fresh Air Fund’s partnership with OneSight, an organization that provides glasses to underpriveldged children with their traveling optical clinic. This past Summer they were able to give the gift of sight to over 3000 children at the The Fresh Air Fund’s camps!

As most of you know, I am all about having your eyes checked and getting the proper glasses. I have worn them since I was 5 years old, after corrective eye surgery failed to fix my sight problems. If my parents were not able to afford glasses for me, I might be blind right now. I know what these kids are going through, not being able to see the world around them properly. So please, if you can, donate to The Fresh Air Fund and/or OneSight. Or if you live in an area with a nearby camp, become a host family and help one child experience a Summer outside the big city where they can enjoy fresh air and nature.

November is Diabetic Eye Disease Awareness Month. Please check out the EyeCommitted widget in my sidebar.

And last, but certainly not least, check out my Bloggers And Tiaras Pageant entry for the talent portion of the competition.

See you all on Saturday.
