I have an alcoholic mom that is basically a stranger to me. I just packed up and moved on from it and really dont care. There are too many good people in life to worry about the toxic ones.

Oh Shannon my heart breaks for you. I dont have a mom like that but I sure do have a mother in law like that. I have seen what she does to my husband and I have seen what she has done to my children. You are very wise for cutting ties and not allowing the toxic behavior. I would continue to cut the toxic out of your life. HUGS

as someone who has a mother who has bipolar tendencies, I can completely empathize with you. SHE has to want to make the changes, and until she does that I think you have every right to not want her to be part of your lives. Big hugs, I know how much this sucks

Shan I’m so sorry you have to go through all this Holly is right, it is only up to your mother to change herself, the only thing you can do is help when possible and try to help push her into the right direction.
