I Guess I Have To Go Shopping Again…

Shopping Mouse Yesterday, The Diva found a gift certificate she had gotten for Christmas that we had forgotten all about. Oh joy! So now I have to take her to this new group of stores we have never been to so we can use said gift certificate.  I really do hope to find some good shopping deals. Even though certain members of my In~Laws ask for lists and specifics for gifts for The Diva, but never ever follow them. I have now decided to just stop doing a list altogether and tell them that they always end up getting her whatever they want, so why bother with the extra effort? Double joy.

At least with this gift certificate, it can be used at more than one store, so I can go online and compare shopping prices thereby making this task a wee bit easier on myself. The Diva needs brown shoes, new jeans {She’s growing like a weed!} and some socks. We always seem to lose socks in this house. I think we may have sock stealing Gremlins. I was really hoping for a gift certificate for Christmas large enough to purchase a new portable dishwasher, but that was only a pipe dream. Sometimes I hate being the dishwasher in this house…I am not automatic and I get dishpan hands. *sigh*

I also think we should get a stand up freezer to go in the garage, but my Husband doesn’t think we need it. I told him we could buy all kinds of meat and things in bulk at one of those membership warehouses we belong to then we wouldn’t have to buy any more for a year if we kept that freezer stocked well enough. LOL  He still isn’t buying it…literally or figuratively. BAH!

This week~end, it looks like we’re going shopping again. Hopefully we will find everything we are looking for. I do wish I could shop online exclusively, but until the internet gets a touch, feel and try on feature, I will continue to look online for what I want then go to the store to actually purchase it. Unless, of course,  it’s on sale really cheap with free or low cost shipping, then I will purchase my items from the comfort of my desk chair. 😀

  1. Shan,
I want one of those freezers too. I would love to buy in bulk and save money!

    I don’t envy you going shopping though….

I wish the internet had a touch, feel and try on feature too – that would be rad LOL. And I’m telling you my dishwasher, she never listens…lets the dishes stack up and all. (what…I’m so not lazy LOL)

I guess I shouldn’t complain so much about the portable dishwasher we have in this house then. I HATE doing dishes. I’m not a fan that this dishwasher takes over my kitchen sink for a couple hours when we run it. I REALLY miss having a built in. I’ve been so spoiled the last 9 years. My husband does most of the dishes here. I’d rather scrub a toilet than wash a dish. That’s how much I hate that chore.

I do a ton of my shopping online. I actually bought my refrigerator at Home Depot. They were helpful, unlike other stores we had visited.

  5. We really need a chest freezer for the garage too, especially once we move (there’s no room in our current garage!)

is it me, or is shopping with a child not as much fun as shopping without one? Maybe it’s just me ya know, with a 2 year old 😀

  8. Well I feel your pain. My DD (age 9) got $35 in GCs from Walmart for Christmas that have been burning a hole. So that’s where I was Saturday

No it’s not just you, Heather. I like shopping with The Diva when she is being good and will sit there and let me try shoes on her. However, most of the time, I pull out a pair of shoes and get “I don’t like them” or she won’t leave them on long enough for me to see if they fit right. LOL

She is a shoe fashionista. Has been since she was old enough to recognize a shoe department…She was all of 15 months old!!!

You get way more done without them, but then you aren’t sure if the clothes/shoes will fit them or if they will even like what you’ve picked out!!

I would so much rather shop online too.

Definitely talk him into an extra freezer. I seriously don’t think I could survive without ours. My parents have 2 extras, and I’ve always thought that was completely normal. I don’t think I could fit enough into just our indoor freezer! I guess I like to stock up 🙂

  11. the freezer was our best investment saved us 500 last year in groceries alone. Also have someone take the back off the dryer. Thats where our socks were hanging out. Kid you not.

  12. I agree! An extra freezer is a great investment.

I feel your pain! My dd is 9 and we’ll be going to Kohl’s this weekend to shop for new shorts (for basketball) and undies. This is my hell, I’m sure every pair she finds will “bother” her! Ugh!
