Thirty years ago today, that psychotic whack job piece of shit murderer, Mark David Chapman, forever extinguished the greatest musical voice of our generation. On December 8, 1980, John Lennon was shot dead in front of his New York City home.

It was The Day The Music Died.

I was nine years old and I felt the loss. I always felt that I came of age in the wrong decade. Although the 80’s weren’t terrible. I have always loved The Beatles’ music. And John Lennon. {Yoko can go fly a kite, as far as I’m concerned}

This is my favorite song and a fitting tribute to John and his contribution to this world. There are so many songs I love, but In My Life, Yesterday and Strawberry Fields have to be my top 3.

And honestly, where would music be today if not for influences like The Beatles? Think about it.

This is Paul McCartney’s tribute to his friend, John Lennon.

Empty Garden by Elton John. Another beautiful tribute to my favorite Beatle.

3 Warning Shots by Rick Springfield…what we’d all like to do to that psycho if he ever gets out…

I hope you are resting in peace, John. You are still missed just as much today as the day you were murdered.
