The Little Mermaid Diamond Edition Blu-Ray+DVD Combo Pack Giveaway
I was an adult by the time The Little Mermaid came out, actually I think I was barely eighteen, but I had to see it! Hey, this was the first Disney movie with a heroine who wasn’t blond. She was a redhead like me. Woot! Disney fairytales always have a way of making girls of any age wish for their own happy ending, so my friend Angela accompanied me to watch it in the theater because there is no way I would have gone by myself. Then we went out for dinner like adults because it was girls night. We both loved the movie and I knew then that if I was ever blessed with a daughter, I would make sure she watched it, too. Little did I know that Ariel would become that wished-for daughter’s favorite Disney Princess.
Who can resist a tale about giving up your most cherished gift for your one true love? Or a Reggae signing crab named Sebastian? Certainly not me! Or my little girl.
On October 1, 2013, The Little Mermaid Diamond Edition debuted in Diamond Edition Blu-ray 3D™, Blu-ray, Digital Copy and HD and SD Digital formats. This is only for a limited time and, as the commercials always say, then it goes back into the vault. Forever.

Finally releasing from the Disney vault, The Little Mermaid is the ultimate at-home viewing experience, Disney’s Blu-ray Combo Pack (Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy) contains digitally restored picture and sound, a digital copy of the film, and a variety of never-before-seen bonus features, that allows families to experience Ariel’s underwater adventures like never before in wondrously immersive 3-D. This Combo Pack includes the Blu-ray 3D, a Blu-ray, a DVD, a Digital Copy, plus a 10 Music Track Download.
The Little Mermaid is based on Hans Christian Andersen’s classic fairy tale about a beautiful mermaid princess who dreams of becoming human. It was directed by John Musker and Ron Clements (“Aladdin”) and features the voice talents of Jodi Benson (“Toy Story 2,” “Toy Story 3”) as Ariel, Pat Carroll (“Laverne & Shirley”) as Ursula, Samuel E. Wright (Broadway’s “The Lion King”) as Sebastian, Christopher Daniel Barnes (“The Brady Bunch Movie”) as Eric, Kenneth Mars (“Young Frankenstein”) as Triton, Buddy Hackett (“The Music Man”) as Scuttle, Jason Marin (“Back to the Future”) as Flounder and René Auberjonois (“The Patriot”) as Chef Louis. The film was originally released in theaters on November 15, 1989 and is the 28th film in the Walt Disney Studios animated features canon, and the first in the Disney Animation Renaissance.

How cool is that? I can’t wait to watch this with Ro! She is going to think I’m the best mommy, ever…at least until the movie ends, that is. Plus, I can do my booty dance during the karaoke bonus feature and truly embarrass my kid.

I was 8 and I most remember the music.
That it is finally available in Hi-def. Probably 4 or 5.
I was in my 20’s when I first saw Little Mermaid in theaters – I went to see it with one of my nieces. Such a great story and the music was great. I now enjoy sharing the movie with my own kids.
I like all the innovations made on the movie with this new edition. I want to own it, so I can watch it with my 7 year-old sister. I saw it back when I was 6 and I loved it.

I was only probably about five the first time I saw it. Even if I go years without seeing it I can sing every word to every song. The music is my favorite.
I like it when Ariel sings songs with all her fishy friends in the movie.

(And We Have The Eye Roll…) OMG This is just too funny, I use to do this all the time when I was younger. My Mother really hated it when I would do the old eye roll to her.
I want to watch this with my daughter and we have not seen it yet so I have no favorite scene.

My favorite thing about The Little Mermaid is definitely the music, especially Poor Unfortunate Souls. I don’t remember how old I was when I first saw the movie, but I was very young.

I love the music from The Little Mermaid. I was around 15 when I first saw the movie.
Now, if I tell you how old I was when I saw this, you would be able to guess my age :). Nah, I was about 23 when I first saw this…I watched it with my little girl. I liked the movie because I enjoyed watching my daughter enjoy it.

I like the Crab-E-Oke singalong because I think kids would really enjoy that. I don’t remember exactly how old I was when I saw the Little Mermaid but it was my sister’s childhood favorite. It was on all the time in my house!
