I have been busy, my friends, beautifying the web with my own two little hands. I love designing. I like learning to code. I hate when these things don’t bend to my will. Unfortunately, the code knows this and loves to make my life more complicated by throwing tantrums when I mess with it. Damn code!

My most recent Shan’s Shreds Design was for Mandy at Mommy Cracked. She loves it. It is a bit different than what she is used to, but she picked out the images and the fern background and just let me go with it. Mandy is used to having very little color in her blog. She usually has white, brown and black. That needed to change. She needed some life in her design to match her personality. I think I accomplished that.

This was for Janis at JBM Thinks. She is fairly new to WordPress and was actually on a WordPress dot COM blog thinking it was regular WordPress before I got a hold of her. She loves her design and her new home on the web. I gave her a custom image map for her social icons and actually made her LinkedIn icon from scratch. Janis’ blog is about how to have kids in sports the right way. And how not to be that parent when it comes to your children’s athletic activity.

This one was for Matt at It’s All Free Online. He has several sites, all freebie or coupon related, and this one was for his Free Sample Deals site. He is one of the easiest clients I have ever had. He usually loves the first draft and basically lets me do what I want. I like that in a client.  It’s a win-win. He’s happy and I get my design groove on. It’s very symbiotic. icon biggrin Recently Completed Shans Shreds Designs Projects

This one was a doozy and took me forever to complete. It was an HTML to a dynamic WordPress theme conversion for Agile Project Inc., which means that the client needed the new WordPress site to look exactly the same as the static HTML site with very little or no difference at all. I had initially looked up tutorials on this subject and they seemed fairly straight forward…on the surface, anyway. The problem with the online tutorials, at least the ones I found, was that they all had incomplete information. I started asking some of my coder friends for help and even they couldn’t figure it out. Luckily, a very nice man named Peter responded to my desperate plea on the WordPress forum and helped me figure out where I was going wrong. I showed him the tutorials I had found and he also agreed that they were incomplete, which made me feel much less dumb. I am so grateful for his help. I would not have been able to complete this project without his help.
