It’s Good To Be Grateful: Small Talk Six

It’s time, once again, for Small talk Six! On Saturdays presented by MomDot.com. Today’s topic is “6 things you are most thankful for this year“. You can answer this with a list of 6 words, 6 phrases, 6 sentences. 6 paragraphs, 6 photos, 6 videos, etc…

No matter how much or how little we have, we can all find something to be grateful for. If you have a roof over your head, food in your belly, a warm bed to sleep in and the love and health of your family, you have everything you need. Material possessions are just that, material and fleeting. This year, I am grateful for the following:

1) That my family is together and relatively healthy

2) That my Husband has a decent job that provides for our family and has good, although very expensive, health insurance

3) That we have a house to live in. It may not be great. It may not be new and we don’t own it, we rent. But it’s our home. At a time when there are more homeless families than ever before, I am extremely grateful for what we do have right now. And God willing, someday soon, we will own our own home.

4) That we live in a country that is still free. We have the privilege to say and do just about anything we want to. We can criticize our government without fear of retribution. We can choose where we want to live and whom we want to marry.We can even choose our own profession. We can read any books we like and can form our own opinions about religion, social issues and government. We can vote for whichever candidate suits us and speak, write or protest about any issue we are passionate about.

5) That we have soldiers willing to give their lives to preserve the freedoms we hold so dear.

6) The love of my God, His grace, protection and forgiveness.
