Hello there Inmates! How have you been? I know, I have been neglecting my bloggy. I’m sorry. I have been busy making other people’s blogs look pretty. And getting them from one blogging platform to another. That is not simple. It takes time and a lot of hard work.

And creativity.

You can’t just switch that on and off like a light. No, creativity comes when it comes.

If you try to force it, you will find yourself staring at a computer screen with a headache and bleeding eyes.

And confusion.

The kind of confusion that leaves you unable to remember how to make boxed mac ‘n’ cheese.

I’m not kidding.

I want to announce that I will hopefully be bringing back Shan’s Week~End Wordles this coming Saturday.  I was recently given the link to a new wordle engine and it’s FABULOUS. You can make shapes and really customize this one. I’m in love. The only problem is that you must have Microsoft Silverlight installed on your computer and mine is having issues. I get errors each time I try to install. I have a help ticket in right now and I am anticipating it being all fixed before the weekend.

So…

Go here and familiarize yourself with the tagxedo wordle engine so you can use it on Saturday for Shan’s Week~End Wordles.

I didn’t have time to do my normal 3 Wordles this week, but I did get to do one. YAY! I know I have been absent from leading this meme for a while and I’m sorry. So I figured I should actually post something on my blog so that you all don’t think I’ve forgotten about you. I have just been busier than a one legged man in an ass kicking contest. I have been finally getting my Shan’s Shreds off the ground a bit and making a bit of money. Mostly from Blogger to WordPress switches. I actually like doing them. I get to give a client a great blogging platform, learn a new theme without buying it and also learn several different hosting platforms…and know which ones are good (Hostgator, FatCow) and which ones BLOW (DreamHost).

My last completed switch was for Candace at “Deal”ectible Mommies. She’s fabulous. And I customized the ever loving crap out of that Thesis theme. I have one more thing to  do, but the font plugin does not understand that it needs to bend to my will, not it’s own.

I am currently working on another WordPress switch and theme customization. The switch is completed, but we are still waiting for her header so that I can begin customizing her theme and make her a matching background. The blog is currently nekkid, so I am not going to reveal it yet. I also have another WP switch that I have been working on, but this is not a normal kind of import. This customer is on a blogging platform called DoodleKit and I have to use the RSS feed of her blog to import it into WP. Problem is that, DoodleKit {Which is a giant POS and totally hoses it’s customers in fees. Run, run far away from this place. Never let any of your friends blog on DoodleKit. Ever.} does not want to give my client the back up of her site because they say they own it. I says she pays $30/month and should be able to get a current database back up one time. It’s been interesting. It is a very complicated thing to do this from an RSS feed. And I don’t want to screw this up. This woman truly deserves a beautiful blog and a great platform to blog from. I intend to give that to her.

I also have a couple of headers, two theme switches/customizations and a few Blogger clients to finish up with. So yeah, I’m a busy girl. But it feels good to work and make money. I have a steady monthly goal in mind. I’ll let you know when I reach it.

So do any of you still want to participate in Shan’s Week~End Wordles? I know it has been forever since I posted one, but I have had so much going on, both personally and online, that I just kind of ran out of steam. My Wordles posts do take a while to get up because I am so particular about how they look, how the colors blend…or don’t. But I will have one up tomorrow morning if anyone is still interested. {Please???}

The Asylum will also be getting a face lift soon. I am putting the snow away for a while and going with a watery design. That’s all I’m going to say for now.

Hey kids, what’s up? Yes, I know I have been a horrible meme owner and not done Wordle in a while. I’m sorry. I have been really busy doing design work, learning WordPress, trying to get my Bento working so I can put up that theme, looking for a work at home job and dealing with all the day to day of being a SAHM, wife, etcetera. But never fear my friends, Shan’s Week~End Wordles will happen Sunday. I promise.

This week we will have a theme, of sorts. The 2010 Vancouver Olympics and Valentines Day. Make your colors match the theme or write your own text pertaining to the theme. I think it will be fun.

I can’t wait to watch the opening ceremonies tonight. Plus, I want to see how they are going to deal with the fact that Vancouver has gotten almost no snow at all when just across the border there are several feet of it!

So come on guys, will y’all come back? I really am sorry. Life just gets in the way sometimes.

My Mother is back in SoCal. I found out last Sunday night with a phone call from her. She wanted to surprise me. Uh, yeah accomplished that, Mom. She is living at my FIL’s house. He is convinced she has stopped drinking because he heard it on good authority from her sister. The same woman who lied through her ever loving teeth last year at this time and told him my Mom had no real problems…medical or otherwise.


Yeah, THAT’S the person you want to believe. Uh, huh. Now my Mother keeps calling and asking when she is going to see us and can I take her Christmas shopping and can I do….YEP. It’s started already.

Christmas is screwed.

It’s 3:09 am and I just got The Diva back to bed. I’m tired. I want to go to sleep. And I have to do that with my Husband snoring like a freaking buzz saw next to me. I swear that man could wake the dead with his snores! No wonder I’m tired all the effing time! Between him and The Diva, I get no peaceful rest.

Bear with me. I am also trying to get my house sparkly clean and decorated for Christmas all by myself, since The Hubster’s employer is trying to kill him with 12-14 hour days, 7 days a week! {This is their busy season. Thank you Wal-Mart, because of you, my Husband still has a job. But because of you and all the other online retailers his company ships for, we get Butthead Daddy this time every year.} It makes for a nice check, but the downside is a bitchy Husband/Papa we barely see.
