I Should Have Been Their Girlfriend!: Small Talk Six

March 27, 2010 by Shan 11 Comments

It’s time, once again, for Small talk Six! On Saturdays. Today’s topic is “6 celebrities you had a crush on when you were a tween or teen“. You can answer this with a list of 6 words, 6 phrases, 6 sentences. 6 paragraphs, 6 photos, 6 videos, etc…

Ahh, the 80’s. That was my era. I came of age, so to speak, during that decade. And we had our teen idols. Oh yes we did. Even with those horrible mullets…but the mullets in the 80’s were highly stylized. This was the era when it was OK for men to use hair products and wear eyeliner. And not one person called them metro-sexuals. Man, I miss the 80’s…

1) Rick Springfield. Ok well he is still my crush. You can’t say I’m not loyal. I have had a thing for this man since I was 11 years old!! Damn, he’s still hot!

2) Patrick Swayze. ‘Nuff said. And he had a great mullet…

3) Tom Cruise. {This was before we all knew he was seriously batshit crazy}

4) Davy Jones from The Monkees. There was a huge 60’s resurgence in the mid 80’s…

5) Simon Le Bon from Duran Duran. It was the 80’s.  And they were hawt! Check out the mullet…

6) Charles Flohe {Grant} from the soap opera, Edge of Night. He played Preacher. Black leather biker jacket. Bad-ass attitude. And he was fine! {I couldn’t find a picture of him on that show. This one does not do him justice}

WOW. This one brought me back to yesteryear…

    My sister had a crush on Davy Jones. I preferred Mickey myself. 😛

    Patrick Swayze! Oh man, how could I forget about him? He was the ultimate school girl crush! So sweet and southern… Have a good weekend.

      I know! I dreamed of getting private dance lessons from him. 😛 It is so sad that he died. He was very good in The Beast on A & E. And the movie Ghost? FABULOUS. And who could forget Dirty Dancing? LOL

      Damn, now I’m all hot and bothered…

      Yes, Stef, Davy Jones. 😀 I also crushed on Mike Nesmith. He’s brilliant. And rich because his mama invented liquid paper. But none of those crushes compare to my deep and abiding love of Rick Springfield. 😛

    Another vote for Duran Duran…yay! I don’t know why I didn’t include them in my list.

    And, I’m so LOL about the Tom Cruise/nut job comment.

    Tom Cruise (pre-Tom Cru-azy days) made my list too and so did Patrick Swayze – they were both so hot when I was growing up.

    I was actually a Micky Dolenz fan rather than Davy Jones. I used to watch the Monkees all the time in junior high when they started rerunning on MTV!
