What’s In Santa’s Sleigh?: NOVICA.com Alpaca Wool Poncho Review

What’s In Santa’s Sleigh today? Oh, you all are going to love this…

Alpaca wool poncho “Double Plum Braids” by Alfredo Falcon courtesy of NOVICA.com {in association with National Geographic}, one of the leading fair trade artisan websites.

But wool you say? Wool is scratchy and itchy and not very comfortable. Yes, I know this. I am highly allergic to wool. Even the mention of the word wool makes me start scratching. A good friend of mine told me that Alpaca wool is different. It is soft and warm and not itchy/scratchy like sheep’s wool. I was skeptical. So when I received the opportunity to review an item from NOVICA.com and saw the beautiful Alpaca wool ponchos, I knew I had to try one out.

Guess what? I made a really good choice. The poncho is handcrafted, well made and incredibly soft. Color me amazed. I love this poncho. I now love Alpaca wool as well. The package came quite quickly considering it was being shipped from Peru and it was beautifully wrapped. The poncho is handmade and the craftsmanship is incredible. The pictures do not do this item justice. You cannot see the intricate detail in the knitting, nor can you see that the Alpaca yarn is variegated, which gives the poncho a nice depth and a bit of pizazz.

Isn’t the wrapping gorgeous? I love the little Peruvian woman in traditional dress on the bow. All items will come wrapped in a manner designated by the country they have come from. Isn’t that neat?

NOVICA.com has many other amazing items to choose from. Whether it be a corporate gift, something for the world traveler on your list or something for that special person in your life, they have it all. From beautiful handmade jewelry to housewares and hand loomed rugs to clothing or leather goods, you can find it all in one place.

The best part of it is that all the artisans are fair trade, so no worry about buying products that support bad business practices or treat their employees unfairly. That is always a good thing.

So if you want to buy a unique gift for someone special, look no further than NOVICA.com. You can quite literally find anything there. Impress your boss with an incredible gift from their new corporate gifts section. Keeping your boss happy is a good thing, considering the current economic times.

Go on, check it out. You will not be disappointed.
