Just Another Wordless Wednesday…A SoCal Autumn

[ 12 ] January 6, 2010 |

This is Autumn in SoCal. It came early this year;it doesn’t usually happen until mid-January. Yes, I know most of you are in a deep freeze with 6 feet of snow and truly know the meaning of “Frosty the Snowman froze his nuts off in the yard”, but I would LOVE to have an actual fall and winter. Well, I would love to live somewhere that has actual seasons, not this hot & windy/cold & windy crap we have here.

This is the tree in my backyard. I have a “thing” for barren trees against an ominous looking sky. I have no idea why. It just touches me somehow. It’s as if I can see the empty branches and a sky that looks like it’s ready to rip open with some torrent of rain or snow {I have personally never seen snow fall}, and yet the bare branches hold so much promise as well.

I did play around with some effects in my graphics program for these pictures, but they are all of the same tree on the same day.

Frosty the Snowman, froze his nuts off in the yard, but he waved it off, saying don't you scoff, my next pair will be just as hard.

You know I’ve never participated in the “wordless Wednesday” things because to be perfectly honest I know myself well enough to know I could never be fully wordless!! I like that I’m apparently not the only one! Haha! Cant wait for tomorrow so I can play Weekend Wordle for the first time!! Just out of curiosity why the switch to Word Press?

Beautiful photos. I live in Texas, where we don’t reallyl have seasons either. By some miracle, it’s actually cold outside today, but also sunny and beautiful, no snow!
