Welcome To The 8th Level Of Hell. Or Autumn In Southern California.
Let me start out by saying that Autumn is my most favorite season, followed by Winter. Well, the idea of those seasons are my favorites. I’ve never actually lived through a real Fall or Winter. I live in Southern California, we have TWO seasons: hot as hell or cold as hell. Each accompanied by the Santa Ana winds in varying speeds, temperatures and levels of destruction. I have not seen snow fall and only see glimpses of changing leaves due to the oak trees lining the street I travel so regularly. My true experience with those glorious seasons is via books, movies, television and the photographs I stare at longingly. For hours.
This is a picture of our weather for this week, October 16-21, 2012. It’s from my T.V./AT&T U-verse. It is NOT altered in any way. Last week it was cold, rainy and beautiful. I even got stuck on the freeway for an hour on Thursday because it FLOODED. This week? Welcome to the 8th level of hell. Or Autumn in Southern California. And remember, we DO NOT have central air in this house.
And y’all thought SoCal had perfect weather all year long? Suckers! Do any of you know what I would give to live in a state with all four seasons and nice, safe neighborhoods?
I must move out of California. I can’t deal with the heat anymore.

You should try out Michigan. We’ve just bypassed Fall, seems like it was only 3 weeks this year… It’s been fluxing between 30-40F. They’ve predicted that it’s going to snow by Halloween. I LOVE Autumn, I’m so pissed!
I’d be pissed, too! If you usually have an actual Fall and don’t get it, it would totally suck.
*ugh* I’m melting just thinking about temps like that. I’d seriously never survive… at least not without an ac. According to the Farmer’s Almanac, we should be colder and wetter than normal in November with snow in the forecast. With colder and drier weather in late Dec-early Jan as well as in mid-Feb. If the spider web I saw last week is any indication, and mind you the last time I saw one this high off the ground was the first year we moved in… the year we got appreciable amounts of snow, we should be getting some killer weather this winter. Styxie gonna be a happy camper if the signs hold true! .oO(although my joints are gonna hate me for it..)

Oh, what I would do to actually have a white Christmas!! Or at least just see snow fall once. In person and not on TV. 😀
