Just Another Wordless Wednesday…Ballerina Faerie

[ 22 ] July 21, 2010 |

The Diva is, shall we say, a bit eccentric. What? But she’s only five, how can she be eccentric?!?!

If you lived with her, you’d know what I am talking about.

She has always been different. She is extremely intelligent, very creative and has a boundless imagination.

Her imaginary friend is a boy. His name is Daniel. She actually used to have three or four imaginary friends.. All with very strange and unpronounceable, at least by anyone who wasn’t The Diva, names.

Oh, yes, I nearly forgot..she calls her “friend”, my imaginary friend Daniel. That is his whole name.

Is this because she’s an only child or is my blog’s tag line becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy?

In this picture she is wearing:

  • Brown Mary Jane shoes
  • Daddy’s ankle socks {Don’t ask}
  • A pink ballerina skirt
  • Lavender Peace Flower  shirt {I told you guys I was a conservative hippie}
  • Lavender faerie wings
  • Purple butterfly sun hat

The picture quality is  a little weird. I was using the night & sunset modes on my camera. They didn’t do so hot. OY. But really she was adorable in this outfit.

Not that I would let her out of the house wearing it.

Just sayin.

    I remember when my daughter had hers. You know I really miss them being around. It’s good for the soul, I believe they are angles watching over our little ones.
    She looks so cute in her get-up.

    She’s cute! My daughter Madelyn has too many imaginary friends to count. Sadly, most of them are really bad and I spend a good part of my day making them “play nice”!

    How can you say “just another” this is actually the first one I have seen today.

    • Shan says:

      LOL Funny.

      It’s actually a play on an old Bangles song “(Just Another) Manic Monday”. I am a child of the 80’s. Oh and it was written by Prince.

      I am also a plethora of semi-useless inrromation. 😀

  11. You don’t let her out of the house with her faerie wings? But she’s so cute! Don’t you worry she could develop multiple personalities if she has to take off her wings to go out in public LOL

    • Shan says:

      I do let her out of the house with the faerie wings, just not Daddy’s ankle socks and brown shoes. She has to be coordinated. LOL

  12. Faythe says:

    Yes ms. diva, you are a star! LOL! the settings on your camera are making her glow! it’s almost magical! with boys I didn’t get much dress up stuff… I got gypped!(is that a word?)

    That is really cute! I think my son would love that outfit, but unfortunately for him we don’t have a lot of princess gear in our house yet. Soon, I am sure! Oh, and he has an imaginary friend named Cheese Panther who he can only call on the rock phone, so that is pretty weird too!

  15. Kimberly says:

    I can see my 9 year old daughter dressing pretty similar and thinking she looks great. I used to worry about it as she would go to school looking so “interesting” but I’ve just decided she is who she is and I’m not going to make her change very much. lol

    It’s not because she’s an only child. More than likely because she’s creative. I have just the one sibling ( a brother ) and at her age I had 2 imaginary friends. One boy and one girl. Heh. The girl was the one that got the blame for all my shenanigans. Go figure.
