Obama Is The Great Reformer? Try The Great Reneger!

[ 13 ] March 26, 2010 |

I remember the 2008 Presidential campaign. I remember waiting for Obama to actually enumerate what it was he was planning on changing. His slogan was “Change you can believe in”, yet he never did truly say what changes he was planning on making. All I ever heard was more of the same  tired Democratic rhetoric…big government, more taxes, more spending, elitist attitudes, etcetera, etcetera, ad nauseam. I do remember him talking about governmental transparency non-stop. I heard him say how everything was going to be above board and there would be no closed door deals made. Everything was supposed to be broadcast on C-Span. Additionally, we were also supposed to be able to access this information via the Internet.

Uh, OK. None of what he promised about “transparent government”, being FOR the people and letting the rule of law reign has come to pass.

I call that a bait and switch.

Were any of the negotiations for the Health Care Reform Bill broadcast?

I predicted this would happen. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

This morning, my friend Brandy, over at Not So Average Mama, sent me this video. I knew I had to post it.

I give you The Great Reneger….

I understand your point but I feel that no matter who went it office it would be the same damn thing. republicans are no better or different then the democrats They both tell us all we want to hear to get votes then when in office its a whole different story..

Well, I am not one who has ever voted down party lines. I have my own problems with the republican party. The old guard needs to go and make room for us that want the same things. As a Republican, I do believe that health care reform is desperately needed. This bill was not the way to go.

I also do not think that abortions should be illegal because that’s a woman’s choice, not some old man in a black robe. But I have a problem when it’s used as a form of birth control and I don’t think the federal government (read: taxpayers) should be funding abortions. I am all for gay rights, but church marriage is a different issue.

I also believe that health care should be affordable for all citizens.

But my biggest problem is when someone is not honest. Do what you say, say what you mean. Do not sell me a bill of goods that isn’t what you said it would be. But what should we expect? Obama is a lawyer. They talk out of both sides of their mouths.

He speaks with forked tongue… his change was what ever he wanted that particular group to believe at that moment… much like any politician.
I do not walk a party line either.. and I think many of them need to be voted OUT… but we need good honest people to run against them! the tricks have been going on so long that it is just a circle of lies… from one mouth to the next. He scares me with the people he has surrounded his cabinet with… sounds to much like a take down of America… turn it into a marxist or a mix of all that is not democratic and a Republic that we are suppose to be.

children should get health care… cut out the crap in health care, when someone reports strange bills ect… do something about it… they are to busy filling there pockets & hiding it. I worry about America’s future.

I think that it’s really interesting to me to read both sides of the story. Living in Canada, a lot of people don’t think that your president has much effect on us, but it does. It’s interesting to read how many problems he’s causing, etc. I don’t think anyone is ever 100% happy about whoever is running their country, kwim?

I don’t have a political party per se. I have various opinions on various different topics and am able to grasp and try to understand each argument. Honestly. I think politicians all truly do say thing via campaigning to make them reel in the votes. Politicians are just that politicians. Scandalous, lying, self absorbed, only out for THEMSELVES. Main reason why I hated the whole bull of “Change YOU can believe in”. Yeah…OK. No politician is out for You and I and never will be. They may vote or push through policies we can at least live with but it’s never truly to help US. I honestly knew this healthcare crap was going to get pushed through. I believe there could have been another way to get us what we need and want as a country without the crap they pulled. But hey they are politicians NOT our best friends…they don’t care about YOU or I. And I think Americans need to wake up and realize that. Just because someone talks funny or is “charming” doesn’t mean they are the boy next door and will help make this country better or care about what is going to make OUR lives better. I could go on and on and on. I truly could. It gets me all riled up and sometimes I cant eloquently express my thoughts and stupidity makes my brain bleed.

But you are right..he and ALL politicians make promises they will never follow through with. And honestly I hope most Americans wake up and take notice. This is our country, we give these asshats jobs….they NEED to pay close attention to OUR needs etc.

  6. We need to vote him out and vote the rest of them (Republicans and Democrats) out of office over the next 2 years and take our country back and make things right.
